The 24th Induction Programme of IMERT started on Tuesday, 1st August, 2017. College campus took a colorful look, with the youthful faces of national and international start-up entrepreneurs, their corporate logos and quotes. The theme for the week-long induction program was ‘GST- Growth Sustainability and Transformation’. Hon. Prin. B. G. Jadhav Exe. President of Marathwada Mitra Mandal addressed the gathering of students. He stressed the importance of humility and helpful nature in creating the opportunity for others, while being ambitious and achieving ones’ own success in the professional career.
Institute Director, Dr. Shriram Nerlekar welcomed the students to the institute and outlined the two year program planned, to prepare the students to scale the greater heights in their careers. Dr. Anant Sardeshmukh- Director General-MCCIA was the chief guest for Shift 1 Induction Programme and Ms.Rujuta Jagtap, Executive Director, Saj Test Plant Pvt. Ltd., and Honorary-Secretary, MCCIA was the chief guest for Shift 2 Induction Programme. They both counseled the students about working with people at different levels and spheres of the work life. The anchoring and management of the entire programme was done by Senior MBA students. They also gave Faculty introduction to Newcomers.
Prof. Praful Sarangdhar, acquainted students with the ‘Choice Based Credit System’ (CBCS) of the S.P. Pune University. He also detailed the additional inputs designed by institute in the curriculum, to strengthen skill based learning through various certification programs offered in-house, for students’ competency building.
Mr. Amol Raut gave the brief about library. He guided students for library formalities and also he spoke about the collection IMERT Library has.
‘Corporate Relations Cell’ address and Placement Profile Registration’ that was held by Prof. Yogini Kulkarni - Placement Facilitator at IMERT; twitch a tender cord with students who listen with rapt attention and conducted themselves through the process.
Prof. Vivek Dighe guided students on Personal Grooming on second Day. The session was followed by the session of Institute Director, Dr. Shriram Nerlekar on Objective Clarity & Time Management.
The ‘Outdoor Management Training’ program (OMT) was planned by Prof. Aparna Shastri on the 3rd and 4th days, at MMCOE Karvenagar Campus. The senior students conducted various games for the students, while sharing their rich experience in a playful manner. It proved to be a testing time for the students for the skills like leadership, teamwork, coordination, time management, analytics and imagination etc.
‘Online Assessment Test' was conducted by Prof. Pranjal Jadhav , took place for all students, during third and fourth day. This was a big step on the part of institute towards individualizing the inputs, as per the students needs.
The session was followed by a movie based interaction with students, by Prof. Ruchira Tapre. Although it was a pleasant surprise, students came out with original ideas and different perspectives about the leadership and management through their opinion sharing and comments, while appreciating Office superintendent Mr. Shailesh Muley also interacted with the students for official formalities.
As a part of Induction and for the benefit of the students, IMERT has Launched Foundation courses in English and Accounting. These foundation courses are aimed to improve and polish the knowledge of the students with special reference to the domain. They were conducted by Prof. Aparna Shashtri and Dr. Shriram Nerlekar Respectively for English and Accounting.
