Induction programme 2016


The 23rd Induction Program of IMERT started on Monday, 1st August, 2016. College campus took a colorful look, with the youthful faces of national and international start-up entrepreneurs, their corporate logos and quotes. The theme for the week-long induction program was ‘Digital Youth’.

Hon. Prin. B. G. Jadhav Exe. President of Marathwada Mitra Mandal addressed the gathering of students. He stressed the importance of humility and helpful nature in creating the opportunity for others, while being ambitious and achieving ones’ own success in the professional career.

Institute Director, Dr. Shriram Nerlekar welcomed the students to the institute and outlined the two year program planned, to prepare the students to scale the greater heights in their careers.

A renowned international leadership coach and talent management consultant Mr. Jayant Vishnu, delivered the counsel for working with people at different levels and spheres of the working life. Being a data analyst expert and certified HOGAN professional, his insights encouraged students to think about the need for reorienting their thought process, through his session titled“Attributes of Modern Manager” .

Dr. Jitendra Bhandari (HOD), acquainted students with the‘Choice Based Credit System’ (CBCS) of the S.P. Pune University. He also detailed the additional inputs designed by institute in the curriculum, to strengthen skill based learning through various certification programs offered in-house, for students’ competency building.

The session was followed by a movie based interaction with students, by Prof. Ruchira Tapre. Although it was a pleasant surprise, students came out with original ideas and different perspectives about the leadership and management through their opinion sharing and comments, while appreciating the movie.

The ‘Discovery Interviews’ with the help of ‘Ozone Consultants’ and ‘Online Assessment Test‘ conducted by college, took place for all students, during third and fourth day. This was a big step on the part of institute towards individualizing the inputs, as per the students needs.

The‘Outdoor Management Training’ program (OMT) was planned by Prof. Aparna Shastri on the 5th day, among the hills of Lohgaon, at the MMIT campus ground. The senior students(winner team of the ‘Dhurv’ trophy-2016, of PUMBA) conducted various games for the students, while sharing their rich experience in a playful manner. It proved to be a testing time for the students for the skills like leadership, teamwork, coordination, time management, analytics and imagination etc.

A session titled “Present your-self in corporate style” was conducted by Mr. Job Varghese, a Training consultant, with Dale Carnegie India. The objective of the program was to acquaint the students with appropriate etiquettes, behavior, and presentation; suitable for the professional environments of the industry.

Two interactive sessions, one with TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) – a global entrepreneurship network invitee and the other with members of recently formed our very own, ‘IMERT Alumni Association’ took place on the last day. During these sessions students shared their aspirations, and asked doubts regarding the career choices, environments as well as opportunities and difficulties.Prof. Vinod Mohite (Faculty Facilitator-IMERT Alumni Association) and Prof. Ruchira Tapre (Faculty Facilitator- TiE) invited successful professionals and entrepreneurs from various industries for these programs.

‘Corporate Relations Cell’ address and Placement Profile Registration’‘ that was held by Prof. Yogini Kulkarni - Placement Facilitator at IMERT; twitch a tender cord with students who listen with rapt attention and conducted themselves through the process.
